Family Violence Crisis and Support Service Northern Metro (Outreach)

Salvation Army

The Family Violence Crisis and Support Service provides outreach support to women and children who have experienced or at risk of experiencing family violence. The program provides support with a range of needs including: support to help develop a safety plan, advocacy with Police and support services, information about your housing options, and much more.

The Refugee Child Outreach program (RCO)

The Brotherhood of St Laurence Multicultural Communities Team (MCT)

The Refugee Child Outreach program works with newly arrived children through home visits. It also links them to local early-years services in incorporating children’s health, development and settlement needs.

Our Refugee and Asylum Seeker Partnership Program (RAP) works in partnership with Spectrum across Hume and Whittlesea to empower refugee and asylum seeker communities to develop their leadership and governance skills to establish strong, connected and vibrant community groups with the confidence to participate in and contribute to the community.

Family Dispute Resolution (FDR)

Separated people who are having difficulty coming to agreement on parenting and financial agreements after separation can access our FDR service. Where appropriate, our FDR practitioners can work co-operatively with our Parenting Orders Program, and this team approach can be very valuable for some clients.

Family and Relationship Counselling

Our counsellors are trained to work with a wide variety of issues such as loss and grief, trauma, relationships, depression and anxiety. They see a diversity of people including individuals, couples, adolescents, children and families.

FOCCUS – Pre-marriage counselling for couples

Couples over three sessions reflect on their strengths, and weaknesses and what it takes to have a strong, healthy and lasting marriage.

Smart Moves – Post Separation Parenting Course

This six-week course is offered as part of the Parenting Orders Program and helps parents understand the needs of their children, improve communication, problem solving and conflict management skills.

Parenting Orders Program (POP)

CatholicCare

This program helps families experiencing separation or family breakdown to reduce conflict and increase cooperation and communication. It seeks to build on families’ strengths, so they can better manage parenting and contact arrangements in the best interests of the children. It is child focused and child inclusive. It is suitable for families who are experiencing conflict regarding parenting arrangements and who have Parenting Orders from the Family Court or Federal Circuit Court.

VASS Epping PAG/ Social Support Group

Victorian Arabic Social Services (VASS)

The VASS PAG/Social Support Group in Epping provides culturally and linguistically appropriate social support to people of Arabic speaking backgrounds, inclusive or Assyrian and Chaldean backgrounds. The group meets once a month on a Monday and runs information sessions, excursions and other fun and educational activities aimed at improving independence and community participation.

Eligibility: You are eligible if you are under 65 with a disability or a career of Arabic, Assyrian or Chaldean background. If you are over 65 you can apply through My Aged Care.
